Wall Construction

We immerse ourselves in the time when Berlin was divided in two by the construction of the Wall. We experience first-hand at historical sites what this meant for people and the dangers they faced to get to the West. Tragic stories but also daring escape attempts that led to freedom. An exciting journey back into the history of the Cold War. The tour is especially fun with our E-Cruisers!

Tour Highlights

Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark

Opened in 1951, the Friedrich Ludwig Jahn Sports Park, named after the father of gymnastics, is an important sports complex with a stadium for 20,000 spectators, training grounds and an athletics hall. Currently being modernized, it remains central for sport and leisure.

Berlin Wall Memorial

The outdoor exhibition at the Berlin Wall Memorial offers an emotional insight into the consequences of the construction of the Wall in 1961. Along Bernauer Strasse you can see the preserved death strip and the Chapel of Reconciliation.

Park on the north station

We owe this little piece of green idyll to the former Berlin Wall. The park, which was created in the former death strip, offers people from the adjacent neighborhood access to nature and at the same time preserves traces of the past.

Watchtower at Kieler Eck

The watchtower at Humboldthafen, known as the "Günter Litfin Memorial", commemorates Günter Litfin, the first victim of the Berlin Wall. The tower, a memorial to the victims of the division, is accessible at weekends.

Reichstag

The Reichstag in Berlin, originally the seat of the German Empire, became the seat of the Bundestag after reunification in 1999. Sir Norman Foster oversaw the renovation, including the new construction of the iconic glass dome, which symbolizes transparency and offers visitors a unique panoramic view of the city. As a symbol of German democracy, the Reichstag is open to the public and offers a permanent exhibition on the history and function of parliament.

Brandenburg Gate

The Brandenburg Gate, a landmark of the city and symbol of German unity, impresses with its splendor. Experience the special atmosphere of this historic site up close.

Potsdamer Platz

Potsdamer Platz, located in the former no man's land right next to the Berlin Wall, is a central traffic junction and newly developed lively district in Berlin. It is home to skyscrapers, shopping centers, cinemas, restaurants, museums and even a film academy. The square is a symbol of Berlin's resurgence after the fall of the Wall and attracts tourists and locals alike.

Topography of Terror

The Topography of Terror is a project that was established in 1987 in Kreuzberg and is dedicated to documenting and coming to terms with the terror in National Socialist Germany. The documentation center, which opened in 2010, hosts a number of special exhibitions in addition to the permanent exhibition. The facility serves the culture of remembrance and offers visitors the opportunity to come to terms with a dark chapter of German history.

Checkpoint Charlie

Checkpoint Charlie, once the most famous border crossing of the Berlin Wall, was a military checkpoint. The House at Checkpoint Charlie is home to the Wall Museum, which documents the history of this border point.

Television tower

The television tower, the tallest building in the city, is a well-known landmark and has been used to broadcast radio and television programs since GDR times. Bar 203 is located 203 meters above the ground.
